Sup Y'all I'm trippin here with my boo tryin to fig'er out what to for the rest o da night. At this point, other than speaking in tongues, I am at a total loss. I'm feeling a little green tonight, I think it might be my crash diet that includes cucumber and cucumber. Yek! While I go gag, here's something for you to scarf down. it's a slow week this week is!
AVP: For you nerds out there, I know you don't need me to tell you what this acronym is for. For the rest of society, let's just say it has Aliens and Predators, but unfortunately, no Governators. Taking it's cue from Aztec Mythology, sci-fi, and some f'd up logic, this gem will keep comic book geeks (namely Kevin Smith) drooling more than that nasty Alien. And to all you Aztecs out there, we are very sorry.
First Daughter: Ah, i don't have the energy.
Head in the Clouds: Charlize Theron isn't ugly anymore. So I guess the Oscars are over. Here, she stars with her boy toy Stuart Townsend, and Penelope Cruz. Set during the European 30's, this classic love story is interrupted by those damn Nazis. Think Merchant-Ivory meets Triumph of the Will.
Something the Lord Made: This HBO hit is out on plastic. Two doctors help "blue babies" while dealing with racial and personal strife. I bet Jim Crow never thought Mos Def would be a doctor. I bet Jim Crow never thought there'd be anybody named Mos Def.
When Will I be Loved: Neve Campbell (gets naked) breaks out of her good girl image with (bumping uglies) this adult drama from writer/director (pornographer) James Toback. She stars as some rich girl who feels a little underappreciated, and goes out to get some. Can't say I've heard good things about this one, but hey who needs a story right? BTW, the tagline reads: "Revenge is a dish best served hot." Yeah. Big Time.
The Wire Season Two: I hear this is better than most shite out there. I just can't seem to get into these things. Television has destroyed my love for the box, well except of course, L&O. But hey, people love it so it must be great. This is a 5 discer, so pace yourself and don't go hurting each other over this. It ain't no cabbage patch.
Weeping Camel, The Story of: The title is reversed because I missed the "Ss." What are ya gonna do eh? This literally quiet film tracks a Mongolian Desert and their pet camels as they do what they do best. At this point, I'm unsure as to what that may be, but hey, it looks nice! I think it's as if Winged Migration met Nanook of the North and this was it's illegitimate child.
* * * * New Staffs Recs coming soon! Here's a sneak peek as we try to joggle our brains for something clever...
